What does a “typical” service look like at Grace Community?
Announcements & Singing
Our time together begins with announcements followed by congregational singing. The words will be on the overhead. During this time many people stand but that is not required. You are also welcome to raise your hands in worship and to respond as the Holy Spirit leads.
Prayer & Message
The message is typically given by our pastor, but it is not uncommon for one of our Elders to share.
Song & reflection
The song leader returns for a time of congregational singing and reflection on the message. From time to time we may also include an opportunity for people to come forward and receive prayer.
Hymn & Communion
At Grace Community we share in communion each week. After the Communion Hymn, the elder will welcome everyone and pray. After this believers will come forward and receive their individual communion cups and return with them to their seat. Once everyone has been served the Elder will read the scripture and we will share communion together.
Closing thoughts & Doxology of Praise
After communion, the Pastor will come forward and share a few closing thoughts and our service will conclude with the Doxology of Praise.
Grace is central because it is by God's grace that we're even here. He has seen fit to assemble this body of believers to exalt His son, Jesus Christ — the One whose death and resurrection gives us peace with God and the hope of heaven. You'll find that His grace is the common thread that runs through every ministry and expression of worship here.
Community is likewise significant. It suggests both genuine fellowship within our church family and an open door to those around us. As members of one body, we seek to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:3). As a light in our community, we're a place of peace for those in chaos, a place of forgiveness for the guilty, and a place of hope for the hopeless.
Church, however, is paramount because of its absolute uniqueness. While "Grace" and "Community" were our choice in defining who we are, "Church" was mandated by God — as revealed in His Word. It is His designation for the assembly of people called by His name.
We believe that God has inspired the words preserved in the Scriptures, the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, which are both record and means of his saving work in the world. These writings alone constitute the verbally inspired Word of God, which is utterly authoritative and without error in the original writings, complete in its revelation of his will for salvation, sufficient for all that God requires us to believe and do, and final in its authority over every domain of knowledge to which it speaks.
The Apostles Creed
We believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. We believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
We believe God has graciously disclosed his existence and power in the created order, and has supremely revealed himself to fallen human beings in the person of his Son, the incarnate Word.
We believe Church is for every generation! Together we sing, we pray, we listen, we worship! One Body, One Family.
We believe it is imperative for children to grow in the sanctuary with their family. The biblical model of worship brought the entire family together. Together to sing, pray, listen and connect!
We believe going to church together as a family means more than going to the same building together, it means sharing the worship experience together
One Body, One Family, One Church! This is our Father’s House, everyone has a place!
We are here to equip people to fulfill the plan God has for their life. To see broken hearts healed, wounds mended and life lived to the fullest for Jesus.
